These are some of my friends. There’s Squirrels, and Penguin, and Tiger, and Cow and more. I don’t know how many there are.
The ‘R’ Word
This is an ‘R’ Word. That’s what mommy calls it. It looks a lot like a raccooner to me. That’s what daddy calls him.
R words try to come in my yard but mostly stay on the fence. When I see them they run away up a tree. I wish I could run up trees. I like to walk on logs. Squirrel goes up trees too. Sometimes the small squirrels (mommy calls them chick-monks or something) go under the deck. That makes them hard to find or play with or chase.
The R Words are almost as big as me, but they still run away because i’m a dog and it’s my yard. One hissed at mommy one time.
This ‘R’ Word just hung out in a tree for a long time. Staring at me and daddy. It looks scared of me, doesn’t it?
Puppy nose
When I was little my nose was black. It was my puppy nose. Isn’t it cute?
My nose isn’t that way any more. It got older even though Daddy still calls me a puppy. I’m a big girl though!
Now my nose is the same color as the rest of me. Well, at least my hair. Except for my white patch on my chest. My nose isn’t white.
I like sniffing. I like digging and sticking my sniffy nose in the hole. Something is down there, I just know it. Something in the brown dirt. Daddy always laughs at me after my nose goes in a digging hole.
Some stuff I find smells so good I have to lick it. Or roll in it. Daddy gets me wet after I roll in it.
I like all the smells.
I like snow
Sometimes, when it gets cold on my paws, white snow lands in my backyard. I like snow. It’s fun to run in and to put my nose in. I like jumping up and biting it when Daddy throws it at me.
When it snows I take Daddy and Mommy for walks in the woods. One time I took Daddy on a really long walk. I ran and chased. I like the snow.
But snow sometimes sticks to my legs and makes them really fat and hard to walk on. They get in the way and I have to hop or push my legs to the side. This snow walking makes me tired. Daddy breaked off the snow sometimes and then walking was easier. But my legs still kept getting fat and I got really tired. Daddy carried me for awhile but still made me walk lots.
Finally we got back home to Mommy. I wanted to go inside and sleep because I was really tired. But Daddy made me stay outside so he could point his camera at me. That didn’t help get the snow off my legs. I wanted to go inside and sleep. Daddy put me in the sink and made water go on my legs. That made the snow go away. It was warm inside.
I like the snow. I like my warm house even more. And sleeping.
Jungle Dog
Look at me. I’m Jungle Dog. You never know when I’m going to pounce. I hide in the grasses. I hide in the flowers. I hide under trees. I hide in plain site.
You’ll never see me unless I want you to.
I’m Jungle Dog and I’m just waiting for….a bee….a bee…..get away!!!!
